Like it?
Nu ma pot numi un fan al seriei “Final Fantasy”, ar fi o minciuna gogonata sa pretind asa ceva. Desi trebuie sa spun ca ma tenta de multa vreme sa incerc unul din multele titluri ale seriei, curios fiind din ce cauza se face atata valva pe seama lor. Eh, uite ca in sfarsit mi-am facut meteahna, si m-am cufundat in lumea fantezista a seriei prin intermediul lui “Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII”. Dat fiind faptul ca sunt un ‘newbie’ printre randurile celor care sunt familiari cu seria, nu cunosc la fel de bine legaturile dintre personaje, ce personaje mai apar in titlurile precedente ale seriei “Final Fantasy ” (cica aparitiile lor ar fi un fel de bonusuri pentru fanii inraiti ai francizei; probabil asa o fi) sau alte mismasuri de acest gen, o sa ma rezum sa va prezint ceea ce se intampla strict in cadrul jocului de fata, de teama sa nu dau cu bata-n balta si sa ma-njure veteranii seriei. So let’s get a move on!
Inca de la inceputul cutscene-ului introductiv ni se prezinta un pustan dornic sa intre in miezul actiunii, putin cam nesabuit si tare hiperactiv (are there some Naruto fans in the house?). Respectivul se numeste Zack Fair, este un agent de gradul 2 al corporatiei SOLDIER, si doreste tare mult sa acceada in ranguri, mai precis sa devina agent de gradul 1 si sa fie un erou intocmai ca si agentul lui preferat – Sephiroth. In papucii acestui ‘hothead’ suntem plasati noi – bineinteles ca ma refer la Zack, nu Sephiroth – si il vom ‘acompania’ in calatoria lui spre glorie, plina de peripetii. Ok, moving on to the main plot. Zack a ajuns agent de gradul 2 sub atenta supraveghere a unuia de gradul 1, Angeal Hewley; acesta il ‘boteaza’ cu un nume de cod ca sa-i zic asa, anume “Zack the puppy”, haios doar din perspectiva lui Angeal. Inevitabil, cu trecerea timpului, Zack ajunge sa-l priveasca pe Angeal ca pe un mentor. Pe plan profesional, corporatia din care face parte Zack e in razboi cu o factiune numita Wutai, si de parca asta n-ar fi de ajuns, unul dintre agentii de gradul 1, Genesis Rhapsodos, a dezertat, luand cu el o particica buna din agentii de gradul 2 si 3. In curand, locul colcaie de clone ale lui Genesis, iar Zack e trimis sa gaseasca dezertorul, in principal din cauza faptului ca Sephiroth refuza sa accepte aceeasi misiune deoarece cei doi erau buni prieteni. In plus, pe langa faptul ca Zack primeste ‘ramasitele’ misiunilor lui Sephiroth, dupa scurta vreme si Angeal o ia pe urmele lui Genesis, spre nedumerirea catelandrului Zack. Urata situatiune, ar zice stimabilul Caragiale dac-ar mai fi in viata.
Gameplay-ul, din ce am prins eu din zbor, este neobisnuit pentru un joc din seria “Final Fantasy”, majoritatea avand de regula o mecanica de joc precum cele Turn-Based Strategy insa implementata in structura unui Role-Playing Game. Square Enix a tinut de cuviinta sa-l clasifice drept un Action Role-Playing Game, ceea ce nu e prea departe de adevar ca sa fiu sincer. Ce-i drept, exista o oarecare ‘sacadare’ in miscarile lui Zack care tradeaza originile jocului, insa aceasta se poate trece cu vederea foarte usor. Controalele sunt simplisime, chiar surprinzator de straight-forward comparativ cu unele “Japanese RPG”-uri pe care avusem ocazia sa le butonez nitel (“Lost Odyssey”). Avem optiunea de a-l controla pe Zack fie din D-pad, fie cu ajutorul analog nub-ului, iar controalele principale se impart, as putea zice, pe doua categorii: lupta si explorare. In timpul numeroaselor lupte, /\ are rolul de ‘block’, [] cel de ‘dodge’, L si R permite schimbarea in timp real a item-urilor folosite in abordarea inamicilor (ai optiunea sa te vindeci, sa imparti vraji sau lovituri de sabie inamicilor ce-ti stau in cale, trecand de la una la alta prin cateva apasari de buton), iar X permite folosirea item-ului selectat in momentul respectiv. Daca in schimb nu suntem in mijlocul unui camp de batalie, prin intermediul /\ vom accesa un meniu prin intermediul caruia vom putea cumpara item-uri, citi mail-urile (primesti o gramada de tutoriale la inceput), sa purcedem in misiuni secundare pentru a ne imbunatati pustanul (insa doar in timp ce te afli la un save point; dupa ce termini misiunea -sau mori- vei fi adus inapoi la acelasi save point), sa fuzionam item-uri (doar dupa o bucata de vreme) si multe altele; [] ne va deschide o harta comprehensiva si usor de folosit, iar X va permite interactiunea cu mediul si numeroase NPC-uri. Combat-ul ar fi cam subtirel si repetitiv de unul singur, noroc cu DMW-ul (Digital Mind Wave). In esenta este un ‘slot-machine’ care este un fel de guvernator al lui Zack, determinand in ce fel va evolua, nu doar el ci si item-urile echipate asupra lui, dandu-i statusuri temporare de invincibilitate, putere sporita sau alte avantaje ;este adesea influentat de starea emotionala a lui Zack, caz in care DMW-ul ne rasplateste mai des decat de obicei cu atacuri speciale, intensitatea acestora variind in funtie de numerele ‘extrase’ la loterie. Weird, but quite helpful. Mai avem uneori si optiunea de a alege dintre doua solutii pentru rezolvarea aceleiasi probleme, caz in care suntem rasplatiti cu niscaiva rejucabilitate, asta daca suntem norocosi sa ne amintim toate deciziile facute prima data. Not bad, overall.
La partea care ne capteaza atentia de cum vedem acest joc elaborat se afla, of course, grafica. Dati-mi voie sa va spun ca grafica este dementiala pentru un joc de PSP, in unele momente avand impresia ca joci un joc mult mai mare din punct de vedere al marimii (asemanator lui “Lost Odyssey”), iar acest lucru este o realizare imensa pentru un joc dezvoltat pentru o platforma portabila. Ce-i drept, in spatele acestui joc stau cei de la Square Enix, la fel de renumiti pentru atentia la detalii in RPG-urile create precum cei de la Polyphony Digital cand vine vorba de Gran Turismo. Ca atare, animatiile tuturor sunt excelent executate, grafica si efectele vizuale sunt a-ntaia, iar daca n-ar fi un usor aliasing (de care nu se poate scapa, fiindca PSP-ul nu poseda tehnologie anti-aliasing din cate stiu eu) ai fi tentat sa crezi ca titlul de fata isi are locul undeva pe PlayStation 2, daca nu un pic mai sus. Ce mai, o adevarata opera de arta! Si tinand cont de grafica, ma bucur sa va comunic ca nici partea audio nu e mai prejos: melodiile sunt definitorii pentru momentul de joc in care sunt introduse, accentuand si mai tare fiorul ce ti se plimba prin sira spinarii, facand fara efort tranzitia de la melodii line si dulci la ritmuri alerte si pline de ‘metale’. Cu alte cuvinte, cei de la Square Enix au ridicat stacheta considerabil in ceea ce priveste RPG-urile portabile.
Concluzie: Jocul de fata este un must-play (cel putin) pentru cei care au un PSP, fiind grozav pentru cei care colinda de multa vreme meleagurile vrajite ale seriei, insa poate fi aproape la fel de ‘gustat’ si de novicii intr-ale fanteziei oferita de acesta franciza excelenta, mai ales daca va plac RPG-urile. Minorele defecte precum lipsa audio-ului din majoritatea dialogurilor (inafara de cutscene-uri, inclusiv cele in-game) sau faptul ca nu prea ai un cuvant de spus in dezvoltarea lui Zack nu deranjeaza prea mult (intr-un fel DMW-ul chiar te scuteste de unele probleme) nu ar trebui sa fie un factor hotarator in decizia voastra de a juca sau nu acest titlu; va garantez ca nu veti fi dezamagiti. SOLDIER 2nd Class Zack, on the job!

Copiati pluginul in fisierul ‘seplugins’ din root-ul cardului. Apoi deschideti cheat.db prin intermediul programului WordPad. In caz ca nu gasiti in baza de date codurile pentru jocul vostru, le copiati la sfarsitul fisierului, mentionand inaintea cheat-urilor si titlul si codul jocului. Apoi salvati fisierul, intrati de pe PSP in recovery mode, activati pluginul, intrati in joc si apasati ‘SELECT’ pentru cateva secunde.

Tips & Tricks
# New Game+
Successfully complete the game, and save when prompted after the credits. Load your cleared saved game file to begin a new game with your previously earned items, gear, Materia, and more.
# Stat boost
When you meet Hojo in the laboratory, talk to him once, then go to the glass pod near him and enter it. This is the pod in which Red XIII was trapped in Final Fantasy 7. Once you enter, Hojo will lock you up and ask a few questions. Based on your answers, you will be given a stat boost by Hojo.
# Easy gil
Minerva is the goddess of the planet that Genesis sees after his last defeat. She is also an optional Boss that you can fight. She is extremely difficult to defeat. She has 1,000,000 HP and can kill you with one hit if you are not careful. She is under the final “Great Cavern of Wonders” mission. You must have at least 70,000 HP because she has an attack that does damage of at least around 60,000 to 68,000 if you have Barrier and are guarding. You can steal 99 Phoenix Downs from her though. You can use these for unlimited gil and Soldier Points. Steal the Phoenix Downs, wait for her to attack (because you will die), then sell the Phoenix Downs. They are worth a lot of gil. For the Soldier Points, use the gil you got from selling them to buy Materia, then convert it to Soldier Points. Note: Minerva can eliminate Raise status with one of her attacks.
# Easy experience
Use the following trick to get easy SP, Materia leveling, and experience. Once you have got your vacation time at Junon Beach, you will have a new mission under the “Mysteries Of The World” category called “Fun In The Sun!”. Successfully complete this mission set to unlock “More Fun In The Sun!” The second mission in this sub-category is called “We Hope It’s A Vacation”. In this mission, Sea Worms fall out of the sky about a half dozen at a time. This conitinues until about fifty have been destroyed. They are easy to kill, but they can hit you with Stop. You may want to equip Sprint Shoes. Once you have obtained Quake Materia from Wutai’s secret shop, you can kill up to six enemies at a time in this mission. Doing so greatly increases your SP multiplier. They also drop a lot of MAG Mako Stones for Materia fusion. The DMW seems to react quite a bit to this mission; expect lots of Modulated Phases. This mission never expires. Kill the worms as much as desired.
#Money Farming
A great way to get as much money as you want is by attempting the following. Once you acquire the spell called Quake, head to the Master Tonberry quest. Use Quake in every battle, which should deal the maximum 9,999 HP of damage while using 58 MP. An Ether costs 200 Gil, but a dead Tonberry is worth 500 Gil. You should therefore make a profit of 700-1,200 HP per battle. Repeat this process as much as you can to theoretically make as much money as you want.
#9,999 HP
If you want 9,999 HP, try the following. Fuse together two fully-leveled HP Up materias together, and fuse into the materia twenty-five Elixirs (you have to have the item-materia fusion skill to do this). The end result will be an HP Up+ materia with +360% HP (or around there). Elixirs are fairly rare items, but you can get the Elixirs you need by doing missions.
# Following Aerith
There comes a time in the game where you need to follow Aerith around Midgar. If you’re getting lost or are just feeling lazy, you can stand in front of her and she’ll literally push you to where you need to go. Just be sure to steady yourself in front of her so that she doesn’t walk past you.
